About Born To Learn
Born To Learn was founded by Wilna Smith and has been tutoring home school students in computer-related subjects since 2015. We provide distance-based online tutoring and have helped students as far as Dubai, United States, Mozambique, Europe, Thailand, and Australia. From 2027 we are also offering courses in thinking skills, and business.

Wilna Smith
Founder, Manager: Born To Learn, Head Tutor
Wilna has 30 years' experience in teaching computing subjects, including at government schools and private schools in South Africa.
Wilna has extensive knowledge of the IEB and British Curriculum GCSE- and AS-level curriculum and is able to teach to A-levels. She obtained her B.Sc. degree in mathematics and physics as well as HED at NWU and has a diploma in datametrics from Unisa. Wilna loves to share her passion for computers, science, technology, and mathematics with children as they realise that they were born to learn.
Pieter Smith
Tutor, Financial and Technical Support
Pieter has 30 years of business experience across the value chain, and has lectured on business strategy, competitive intelligence, and systems thinking. He has chemical engineering and industrial engineering degrees from the Universit of Pretoria, and a degree in philosophy (information and knowledge management) from Stellenbosch University. Pieter is passionate about teaching the next generation about business, and how to build critical thinking skills in the age of AI. He is also our resident Microsoft Excel and data science specialist.
